- Gardenia is a genus of flowering plants in the coffee family, Rubiaceae. Known for their exquisite fragrance, gardenias are popular ornamental shrubs that feature waxy, creamy-white flowers and glossy, dark green leaves. They are highly prized for their beauty and sweet scent.
- The Frostproof variety is a popular, compact evergreen shrub with an upright, columnar growth habit. It features narrow, glossy leaves and highly fragrant, semi-double flowers with a central crown that bloom from late spring into midsummer. Its name comes from its improved hardiness, making it more tolerant of cooler temperatures and unexpected frosts.
